almaak at the K 2019 – new product developements

Once again this year, some new developments will be presented at the trade show. Again, the increased trend towards sustainable products is clearly visible. The following projects were completed this year:

Basalt fiber reinforced PC/ABS
In terms of sustainability, our basalt fiber-reinforced PC/ABS compounds offer many benefits. In contrast to a conventional glass fiber, no chemical additives are needed in the production of basalt fibers. Furthermore, basalt fibers are characterized by a significantly higher ecological compatibility and higher mechanical and chemical properties at (only) 8% more weight than in a conventional glass fiber reinforced product.

Natural fiber reinforced PC/ABS
Our natural fiber reinforced PC/ABS grades offer the advantage of high ecological compatibility and achieve similar properties to a glass fiber reinforced product at a lower density. Among other things, this product can support the topic of lightweight construction. The area of application of this material is recommended for non-visible parts of subcarriers and functional components.

Transparent / translucent PA-GF and PC/ABS-GF
The development project “transparent / translucent PA-GF or PC/ABS-GF” deals with optical components. These materials can be used for a wide variety of applications, for example in the lighting industry or ambient lighting in vehicles in which an absolute homogeneous illumination of the polymer is required.

Anjatech® PC/ABS with matt surface
Anjatech® PC/ABS 050/45K-LG and Anjatech® PC/ABS R050/45L-LG are further developments of our high-impact resistant Anjacom® PC/ABS 050/45K and Anjacom® PC/ABS R050/45K. They are characterized by a significant gloss reduction (≤2 at K001 scar). This makes it possible to use injection-free components in the field of vision without painting – with the same mechanical and rheological characteristics. The type Anjatech® PC/ABS 050/45K-LG can be produced in natural and all colors.
The sustainable counterpart Anjatech® PC/ABS R050/45K-LG is available in dark colors (for example BMW black, VW titanium black or Audi soul 6PS). On the same basis, all other unreinforced Anjacom® and Anjatech® PC/ABS grades can be finished with reduced gloss.

Anjacom® PC/ABS scratch resistant
Anjacom® PC/ABS 050/75S is our well-known standard PC/ABS blend. As it is very commonly used in the interior sector due to its excellent mechanical properties, we have further optimized this material with regard to scratch resistance. The optimization serves to increase the quality of the components produced therefrom, which protects them more strongly against external influences.

Anjacom PC/ABS silver strains
This is the coloring of standard articles – currently Anjacom® PC/ABS 050/75S – in silver metallic. Through the use of selected pigments, excellent surfaces can be produced and the significant reduction of flow lines can be achieved. The surface can – depending on the design – be made with “light mica” or as a seemingly uniform silver surface.
