Commissioning of the second „Technikum” extruder at the Krefeld site

To optimize and accelerate the processing of our development projects in the pilot plant, we are now equipped with a further machine. We chose a state-of-the-art 30-series twin-screw extruder from Krauss-Maffei Extrusion GmbH in Hanover, Germany. The larger screw diameter compared to the 25mm existing machine enables us to use it more flexibly, to achieve higher throughputs and to use sustainable regrinds without a prior pre-grinding process. The machine is equipped with an UltraGlide screw extension system, which allows the screws to be extended backwards when fully filled during the running process to better observe and evaluate the melting and mixing process.
